Art and Philosophy Workshop - responding to the work of Hannah Fitz at Templebar Gallery and Studios
Crinniú na nÓg is a day for children's creativity across Ireland. I developed a workshop at Templebar Gallery and Studios in collaboration with Katy Fitzpatrick and Aislinn O'Donnell responding to Knock Knock, an exhibition at TempleBar Gallery by Hannah Fitz.
This workshop began with a walk through the exhibition, looking carefully at all of the sculptures in the space and writing answers to the questions "I see..... I think.....I wonder"
This was followed by drawing some of the sculptures and listing their "essential qualities", for instance, what makes a chair a chair?
After these conversations we moved to Studio 6 upstairs and made our own sculptures of objects from home.
After we had finished the sculptures, the group performed between the sculptures using clothes Hannah had dyed for a master class in the RHA.
